Shirts I made.

I am currently in the process of designing a new line of merchandise/apparel that I think I will be calling Yztks (pronounced "aztecs"). This is my first prototype (I like to call her Marnie) and I plan on making a at least a few more throughout the week and positive/negative/any feedback would be super duper appreciated. I have a few more design ideas that I need to draw out and some logistics to figure out also, but if you're interested in one of these designs feel free to contact me! (basically all my contact info is listed in my last post).

I hope you like it :)
If not, Marnie doesn't like you either.

for christy

I haven't blogged since I joined twitter. So, in conclusion, follow me on twitter. You will be enlightened with all of my precious tweets and have the privilege of following me around anywhere I may go. My internet presences can be found on facebook, google+, twitter, skype, oovo, instagram, and secretly you might find me on bakery story. But mostly google+ and twitter.
Today I will leave you with a post, however. I will make no promises as to when the next one will be but I hope you may find enjoyment out of this rarity.

For the past few months I have been experiencing a particular disease of overeating until I feel sick and I recently have decided I am tired of feeling ill every single time I eat. I have begun a new lifestyle that I will share here for anyone else who is tired of feeling like they can't do anything because their stomach is always hurting from their last meal.
Healthy Want Lifestyle:
First and foremost, eat whatever you want whenever you want. Really. If you want it, eat it. Don't hold back. Chocolate cake? Go for it. Cheesy potatoes? yep. The catch is, don't eat until you're full. Only eat until you're not hungry anymore. If you do this, you should be hungry again within the next two hours. Eat frequently and lightly and you will never have to say no to another food ever again. Eat what you truly want, and listen to your stomach, not your brain.

Secondly, move towards a healthier food choice. Yes, I did say you could eat whatever you wanted, but make it balanced. Enjoy all of your food groups and experiment with vegan options and wholesome foods. Try eating more simple foods and less packaged foods. You will feel better and more energized and up for anything all the time! No longer will you have to turn down a hike because you just ate two cheeseburgers and everyone else's fries...

On that note, try to steer away from fake sugar and diet drinks and foods. Artificial sweeteners may not contain any calories, but they slow down your metabolism because they trick your body into thinking there are sugars to burn, and when there aren't actually any calories to be burned, your body slows down its metabolism to make up for the fact that there is nothing to burn. This doesn't mean you have an excuse to drink regular pop all the time either though! Basically all pop is unhealthy, but I'm sure you already knew that.

Part 3, always carry a snack with you. Granola bars and fruit are great. But really anything that you can have a couple bites of and be satisfied.
This is party of always being adventure ready. Being adventure ready at all times is the whole idea of the healthy want lifestyle. Try it out and see how you feel!
ENCOURAGING ADVENTURE READINESS AWARENESS.

Twitter is stupid

Soooooo contradictory to the title of this blog post, I just joined Twitter. This doesn't mean I don't believe Twitter is stupid, it just means Iv'e joined in on all the fantastic stupidity Twitter allows me to be an active part of. And God knows we all need more stupid.....as if Facebook wasn't bad enough. So go ahead and join in on all the intelligent and exhilarating fun available for your pleasure at Twitter and go ahead, Follow me! @ginakayx get it? It's my first and middle name, with an x. How clever of me! And when you read it out-loud it sounds like Gina Cakes! Truly a breakthrough. I just can't stand it.

Oh! Speaking of all things ridiculous, I just found my absolute FAVORITE new video as follows:

Dally in the Ally and Spoon Ring

So it has been quite a long time hasn't it? What, 6 months? Yes. Well this whole summer has been amazing, maybe even the best summer yet...
Yesterday I went to Dally in the Ally in Detroit (which is kind of like a art/music festival in downtown Detroit that attracts a plethora of edgy people). Unfortunately I came straight from swimming and my dad didn't take me home first so I ended up going cholrine-y, in baggy sweats, a black fleece hoodie, and Nike trainers. Oh and it was raining! I was simply stunning. And then I had the incredible good luck of running into a few people. Who happened to get to see me in my soggy state. Lucky them!
While there, I got a ring that is made out of a spoon. It is so cute! And the guy who was selling them even gave it to me for $5 off. He must have felt bad for me. haha. He also had these really cool bracelets made out of forks where he bent a fork like a bracelet and bent the prongs (is that the right word) over a stone. They were very cool. My new goal is to create jewelry out of eating utensils. Except I think I may need to learn to use a welder first.

My Latest Attempts at Diversity

Here's a quick update of my current life patterns.
In my Chevy, I listen to country music (based on a recent discussion it decidedly is the only way to be while driving a Chevy)

Sometimes when I'm lazy I wear outfits consisting completely of things I have bought in downtown suburbia (Ann Taylor Loft, Moosejaw, Gap, so lame, I know) and my Sperry's of course. What all could even be more appropriate than this in a boat town?

At home when I'm feeling driven I run a mile on my treadmill since I'm olympic bound and all (to avoid embarrassment of running outside no matter how beautiful it happens to be out). Needless to say, I'm not much of a runner.

On Saturday nights, I have been known to try to steal a "No Dogs Allowed" street sign. This is to satisfy my "badass persona". Unfortunately I failed since it was cold and I lacked a proper wrench. Better luck next time.

And sometimes I channel my inner 5th grader and think animal pictures are really cute :)

Birthday School

Decidedly dislike in-school birthdays. I suppose you get more serenades than you would otherwise of "happy birthdays" and more people in general who bother to wish you a happy birthday in the halls, but overall I would say my winter break birthday norm tops this. As much as I enjoy a plethora of birthday wishes, I would much rather prefer to be strapped onto my love, my skis. The Monday right after break just doesn't really cut it. Traditionally this is where I am for my birthday, celebrating with steaks upon a mountain top, cooked outside on a grill covered with snow. Perfection.

Work it out, PF

Paul Frank- A decidedly juvenile brand but maybe we can make it work for a 17 year old? I say we give it a try. Some birthday gifts lend themselves to inquiry, but some can be the perfect inspiration one is looking for as winter keeps on dragging on...something I would never ever buy for myself but when wrapped pretty and handed to me, I may be forced to consider twice. This specifically, would be a 7th grade relic, and definitely a blast from the past. Since Paul Frank and I have this history, from back in the day... I have a certain fondness toward it. The only problem is getting others to realize its potential for greatness... or maybe just a cozy-cute look? Maybe...
If Chictopia can do it...
Maybe I can try it out too?
